Vineyard

Mike has the crew in the vineyard preparing the soil. Last weekend we replanted 1,250 plants, 943 Dijion on 10114 root stock. A crew of 10 planted in 2.5 hours! The crew was also able to harvest dandelions for tea. Mike is drying those dandelions now and will spray the freshly planted vines in the upcoming weeks. Dandelions are full of silica which promotes growth in the immature vines.

Congratulation's Grant

Grant Coulter has been the assistant winemaker at Beaux Freres since April of 2007. In those 4 years he has embraced the minimal interventionist style of winemaking that is practiced at Beaux Freres. Coming from a scientific background he had to learn that letting the wine run its course will ultimately lead to a truer expression of the vineyard and the vintage.  As he has achieved this level of enlightenment and for his past years of work and dedication to the Beaux Freres wines Mike has named him Co-Winemaker at Beaux Freres Winery! Congratulations Grant!
