2010 Beaux Frères, Upper Terrace Pinot Noir

2010 Upper Terrace Pinot Noir 750mL
2010 Upper Terrace Pinot Noir 750mL

Tasting Notes:

This cuvee tends to lean towards the Cote de Nuits style of Pinot noir.
Dark ruby color with a hint of plum, Asian spice and forest floor on the nose as well as a spectrum of darker flavors to match. This is the richest and fullest of the three cuvees with great acidity and a multi layered mouth-feel. The texture is silky and enticing with moderate tannins suggesting a wine with aging potential.

Maturity:

This wine will evolve for 12 - 15 years.

Vineyard Info:

This vineyard lies on a property that we purchased in 1997 expressly to have access to this site. After clearing and preparing the soil we planted this steep south facing 10 acre vineyard to Dijon clones 113, 114, 115, 667 and 777 grafted to Phylloxera-resistant rootstock. This site is similar to our Beaux Frères Vineyard in elevation and its sedimentary soils. It is surrounded on all sides by a forest of graceful fir trees. Our first vintage of Upper Terrace was 2002. This site benefits from the same sustainable farming practiced on the Beaux Frères Vineyard.
