The Ubiquitous Bottle

Well folks spring has sprung around these parts, the cherry trees are blossoming and the Canadian geese are making a terrible racket as they migrate north.  With the change in weather ushering in the new growing season I wanted to talk about…glass.  Glass what does that have to with spring? Nothing really but I just recently took a trip up to Seattle Washington, also known as “Oregon’s hat” to visit our bottle manufacture.  All of us in this industry wax poetically about our vineyards and winemaking philosophy but we often overlook the all-important yet less captivating components like bottles.  Even closures garner more attention than bottles, like the every rousing argument over synthetic v.

Oregon Chardonnay

Chardonnay: It seems that there is a renewed interest in the grape. It was not long ago that there was an ABC movement: “Anything but Chardonnay”.
