2012 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 750mL

Tasting Notes:

Composition: Gran Moraine 44%, Zena Crown 13%, Hyland 12%, Beaux Frères 11%, Madrona Hill 8%, Savoya 7%, Upper Terrace 3%, Trout Lily 2%

A very dark ruby purple with an intensely perfumed, aromatic display of dark raspberries, blueberry and black currants. Supple tannins, very opulent and full-bodied in the mouth, this is a deliciously forward and sexy style of pinot noir for us. It has the potential to evolve for another decade and may turn out to be the best Willamette Valley cuvée we have made.

Vineyard Info:

Our Willamette Valley cuvée features fruit grown on select vineyard sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. The wines benefit from the same integrity in the winemaking process as our estate wines. The sites are farmed sustainably and managed to very low yields.

We age the wines in the same French oak barrels used in our estate bottling, however the percentage of new oak is intentionally lower. This wine is not fined or filtered.

The 2012 cuvée consists of wine made from the following vineyards: Gran Moraine & Savoya in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Zena Crown in the Eloa Amity AVA, Hyland in the McMinnville AVA, Beaux Frères & Upper Terrace in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, and Madrona Hill & Trout Lily in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
